How Our Human Hair Extensions Are Made

Quality is not created in a single step. From the initial sorting of human hair to the final hand inspection, each stage helps us build a more consistent, smooth and natural-looking foundation for UNILOVELY hair extensions.

These videos were recorded during our visit to our manufacturing partner in Xuchang, one of China’s best-known hair production centers. Because human hair is a natural material and many stages are completed by hand, slight variations may occur.

Step 01

Raw Human Hair Selection

What happens at this stage?

Human hair naturally varies in shade, texture and condition. Before further processing, the hair is separated into suitable groups, including natural black, dark brown and brown tones.

Why do we do this?

Careful initial sorting creates a more consistent starting point for later processing, color development and product construction.

Step 02

Strand Alignment and Preparation

What happens at this stage?

The selected hair is repeatedly drawn through a specialized combing tool so the strands can be organized, smoothed and prepared for the next production stage.

Directional organization and careful preparation help reduce unevenness and remove loose or unsuitable fibers before construction.

Step 03

Hair Weft Construction

What happens at this stage?

Prepared hair is positioned and stitched to form a secure hair weft. This weft becomes the structural foundation used in products such as Halo and Clip-in hair extensions.

Why do we do this?

A controlled wefting process helps distribute the hair more evenly and gives the extension a stable base for later cutting, assembly and finishing.

Step 04

Washing and Careful Preparation

What happens at this stage?

Hair bundles are washed, separated and gently combed during the cleaning and preparation process. This helps remove residue and prepares the hair for the stages that follow.

Cleaning alone is not enough. The hair also needs to be handled carefully during washing so that it remains organized and ready for further finishing.

Combing and Drying

What happens at this stage?

Step 06

Length Verification

What happens at this stage?

Step 07

Final Hand Inspection

What happens at this stage?

Trained workers inspect the prepared hair by hand and remove visible fibers or strands that do not meet the intended standard before the hair moves into final product assembly.
